I am fascinated by what is going on in Iran.

It's crazy to see how the people in Iran use technology to get the truth out. Who knows what kind of attention the situation would've gotten if Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, etc. did not exist.

I witnessed some protests in Chile, but I never participated. It did not concern me, and the protests were not demanding simple rights (i.e. democracy, fair elections, humane treatment, etc.). I can't imagine protesting when you know your life could be in danger. Even after all the fatalities, there are still protests going on! Justice be done in Iran; however, what does it say about our society that coverage of a celebrity's death has eclipsed the coverage of the developments in Iran?!

Don't get me wrong, cnn.com still has a section for news on Iran, but it does not seem adequate. I grew up with Michael Jackson also, but he is still just one man.

Maybe what's happening in Iran does not concern you. What about the war in Afganistan and Iraq, the coup d'etat in Honduras, the AIDS crisis across the world?

He died on Thursday. It is Sunday. The focus should not be on him anymore. All of these hour-long specials about Michael Jackson. Really?

    ...

    really?
